The twilight saga has clearly left a distaste towards many souls for stories with romantically inclined vampires, even if they happen to drink animal blood.
Vampire Academy, despite the lame title, has surprised this anti-vampire reader and is honestly really well written. It starts off in a strange fashion but despite the odd starting as slowly as you read, you will slowly come to love all of the characters.
The first book is quite chilling and though it may be with Vampire's its quite exciting and unlike twilight, the vampires in this story is certainly one the grown up's can recall.

I certainly recommend the book, just read past the first three chapters and your hooked, soak your fangs in this story. Twilight fan's despite my mean bashing, you really have to read this book to understand the creatures of the dark and not keep dreaming of being married to those horrid creatures.
